I purchased this reel after looking and searching for a month. I paid more, thinking I was going to get what I paid for in a lesser reel. For the higher price and the label as a "commercial grade" reel I expected this to perform as advertised, but the sagging has caused the legs to bow out. While I am generally happy with its performance I am concerned after just one month of ownership that this will not hold up over time; which is exactly why I paid more. Also, this was not the easiest thing to put together and I would call myself reasonably handy. The instructions were vague and the lack of any pilot holes made for a bit of guesswork.

the price on this reel is the steepest of all the reels but it was worth all the money! we originally bought a cheaper reel from another company that was supposed to be the "best one" and it was about 1/2 the price. it sagged, there were not enough screws to make the reel stable, the junctures of reel tubings were weak and it was a HUGE pain to use. the screws would pop out every time and the reel sagged in pain from our 20x44 blanket. this reel has NONE of these issues, it is a high profile so fits nicely over our diving board when needs to be stowed. also the ease of winding and unwinding the reel is awesome, i am a 5'3" female and i can uncover our pool in ~1 minute and cover our pool in 5-10 minutes. the reel is heavy duty as you can tell by the materials you will use to put the reel together. very pleased with my purchase. the only gripe i have is the pieces that attach the reel to the blanket: the adhesive is not strong enough to attach the velcro to the reel and keeps coming off, especially in high hea

This solar cover reel was the greatest thing I have ever purchased for our pool. I am a smaller person and use to have to struggle to pick the solar cover reel over the diving board. Now with the new one I can easily do it myself. Worth every penny of the cost!!
