We recommend Pox-O-Fill for permanent patching of concrete. This epoxy compound can be used either above or below grade. Excellent for repairing structural cracks in concrete or as an anchoring compound for diving boards and ladders.

- Patching damaged areas on vertical wall Review by Ken

Rating My problem was that 20 years of winter freeze and thaw cracked the marcite liner of the pool at the winter water line. Those small cracks allowed water to get in behind the marcite and gradually over the years forced it away from the concrete wall forming large 3 to 8 inch diameter bulges.
I chiseled the bulges open till I reached areas with good marcite adhesion and was left with 2 dozen holes which were roughly one quarter to three eights of an inch deep.
Reading previous posts I opted to mix the Pox-O-Fill in small batches, using a measuring cup to mix resin and hardener at a 3:1 ratio. After mixing and the required wait time I applied the filler using normal drywall tools. This wasn't as easy as I had expected it to be. The epoxy has the consistency of oatmeal held together with Kero syrup. The material wanted as much to stick to the trowel as it did to the wall. As a result I was not able to get a smooth finish during this step.
After letting the epoxy harden for a day, I used a random orbital sander with 50 grit paper to sand the patched areas smooth. This worked like a charm. It was slow going and I used about 10 sheets of sandpaper but the patched areas were nearly invisible.
I followed up with 2 coats of Gunzite primer on the patched areas to hide the texture left by sanding. After painting the pool looks better than brand new.
I will let you know how well this holds up to winter when we reopen the pool in the Spring.
