- excellent performance Review by poolguy

Rating I installed a LM3-24 almost 4 years ago and I wish I had done it a long time ago. It has performed flawlessly and has cut my pool chemical expenses from about $100 per month to less than $100 PER YEAR!! I haven't had any algae problems and have not had to add algaecide since I put the salt generator in. I can leave town for a week or two and when I return, the pool water is crystal clear. About the only thing I have to do is to remove leaf debris and backwash the filter occasionally. I still have to watch pH, alkalinity and stabilizer but they don't change much and are easy to maintain. The unit is easy to install yourself and I've helped 4 other families in my area install this same unit in their pools. Pool companies charge $1800 to install this same unit but it's easy to do it yourself. Everything is pre-wired and the only thing you need to do is to install the unit in your pool piping using the adapters provided and connect the power cord to your pool's pump timer. Add the proper amount of salt to your pool and then just turn the unit on. That's it!!
I haven't had to replace the cell yet but it's expensive and I'm not looking forward to it. Changing it is simple, though. I'm not sure what the life expectancy of the cell is but, after three and a half years, it's still working fine.
A salt water pool is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned!!(Posted on 10/20/11)
