- Replacement Parts Review by Bruce in Phoenix
-
Rating We have the 9 x18 Above ground pool - We love it, as it fit in a difficult area - BUT - The Achilles Heel to the pool is the Frame Pool Hook - It is inexpensive and is the only vulnerable part of the whole pool - We can well afford the $3.71 to get a replacement part - BUT - Haven't been able to, as it has been 'Out of Stock' for" 7 WEEKS !! Can't use the pool vacuum as you have to prop the skimmer in place with the ladder to even keep the skimmer in place - no less try to use the vacuum. This is a lot of money to pay for a pool that you can't get a $3.00 part for! When we contacted parts dept, the best they could do was to say, "Keep Checking the Website" - Good Customer Service ??

- Easy pool and set up. Not so easy prep work Review by KBeth
-
Rating This pool was ordered on a Wednesday. It arrived and was set up on the very next Wednesday. We were very impressed with Doheny Water Warehouse and the delivery service. We had a bad experience with another company and decided to give Doheny's a try. We were NOT disappointed.
We did all the leveling prior to its arrival so it was ready to go. This is absolutely the hardest part. I think some people think it is ready to go right out of the box but that is not the case. Luckily we had done our research. At first look it didn't look like the yard would take much leveling but we were wrong. We had to dig down deeper on one end and our yard looks pretty bad. We took plastic sheeting and placed it over the large area of dirt and then put down the ground cover that came with the pool. We knew we would need support to go under the u-shaped joints so we had boards cut at the lumber yard and had them ready as well. We have already decided to pour concrete next year to remedy our landscaping problem (we will have a mud pit when we take it down for winter).
The set up was quick. My husband did most of all the work and our daughter and I held the sides. We started filling with water about 3 hours after the delivery truck left the driveway. It took 14 hours to fill. We started it at 530 in the evening and was done by 7:30 the next morning. I had read on a forum that the sides look like they are buckling in when it is filling. I saw that to be true. It didn't look like it could possibly straighten up, even though it was just a few inches from the top. It did straighten up right before it reached the fill line. I was beginning to wonder but when they say be patient, they are right. It is perfectly straight.
So far this pool has been great. We haven't owned it very long, so time will tell. It is NOT pretty but it is deep enough. The ladder is not great. It is narrow and a little shaky, but we will purchase a better one next summer. Everything else seems to work fine so far.
