This pool flocculent thoroughly settles un-filterable, suspended debris (carbonates, silica, dead algae, and spore-like materials) to the pool bottom so excess particles may be easily vacuumed out. Use with normal pH 7.2-7.6 and free chlorine levels. Super flocculent clarifier contains no corrosive aluminum or ammonia, will not affect pH, and is safe for all swimming pools and filters. Dosage: 8 oz. per 10,000 gallons.

Product Description
Water Clarifier Plus - Our Water Clarifier Plus binds together the tiny particles that escape the filtration system so they're large enough to be trapped! Highly concentrated formula that makes your water sparkling clear.
Water Clarifier - Similar to our Water Clarifier Plus, Doheny's Water Clarifier is a less concentrated formula that is used for general maintenance to achieve crystal clear water.
Extra-Strength Flocculent - No corrosive aluminium or ammonia! Settles unfilterable, suspended debris such as silica, carbonates, and dead algae to the bottom of your pool for easy vacuuming. Note: Adjust pH to 8.0. Normal pH is 7.2-7.6. Won't affect pH.
Nature's Magic - Reduce scrubbing and chlorine consumption! Special formula uses natural enzymes to clean oil & scum build-up, which eliminates the water line ring. Greatly clarifies pool water while eliminating chemical odors.
Natural Clarifier - Eliminates dull, cloudy water. Helps remove small particles from your swimming pool or spa water by joining the particles together, allowing them to become large enough for the filter to trap. This in turn restores your pool water to a sparkle.
Convenient Dosage Viewing Strip - Each bottle of our clarifying chemicals comes equipped with a dosage viewing strip that allows you to pin-point your exact usage without worrying if you've used too much or too little.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions: Extra-Strength Flocculent
What is the difference between a pool flocculent and a regular clarifier?
While a regular clarifier helps your filter trap small particles over several days, a flocculent is a "sink to the bottom" treatment. It binds suspended debris—like dead algae and silica—into larger clumps that settle on the pool floor so you can vacuum them directly to waste. This is the fastest way to clear a "swampy" pool during spring opening.
How much flocculent do I need for my pool?
The standard dosage is 8 oz per 10,000 gallons. For your convenience, we offer three sizes to ensure the best value:
- 1 Quart (32 oz): Treats up to 40,000 gallons.
- 4-Pack (128 oz): Ideal for large pools or multiple treatments throughout the season.
- 12-Pack Case: Best value for commercial facilities or service pros managing multiple openings.
Is Doheny’s Extra-Strength Flocculent safe for all pool types?
Yes! Our formula contains no corrosive aluminum or ammonia and is non-staining. It is safe for use in vinyl liner, fiberglass, and plaster/gunite pools. It is compatible with all filter types, though it is most commonly used with sand and DE filters that have a "Waste" setting.
Do I need to adjust my pH before using this product?
For maximum effectiveness, we recommend adjusting your pool's pH to 8.0 before application. While the product itself is pH neutral and won't shift your levels, the "floccing" reaction works best in a slightly alkaline environment.
Can I use this if I have a cartridge filter?
You can, but use caution. Since flocculent settles debris to the bottom, you must be able to vacuum to waste (bypassing the filter). If your cartridge system doesn't have a bypass or waste valve, the "floc" can clog your cartridge elements quickly, requiring deep cleaning or replacement.
How soon can I swim after treatment?
You should wait until the product has completely settled the debris to the bottom and you have successfully vacuumed the floor. This usually takes 12 to 24 hours. Once the water is crystal clear and your chemical levels are balanced, the pool is ready for swimmers!
