THICKNESS AND WARRANTY

Doheny’s solar pool covers come in various thicknesses depending on your needs. A thicker cover will retain heat better and last longer. However, they may be more difficult to maneuver on and off the pool.

HOW TO INSTALL AND REMOVE A SOLAR POOL COVER

The easiest way to install a Micro-Bubble solar pool cover is to use a roller beside the pool. Solar cover reel systems for inground pools are designed to sit at the end of the pool where the cover can easily be rolled in and out. In contrast, reel systems for above-ground pools will usually be mounted to the sides of the pool, making it easy to cover and uncover your pool throughout the summer. Pool covers can also be rolled out by hand. If the cover needs to be cut to ensure a tight fit, use a sharpie to mark the lines and cut accordingly.

Depending on the size of the pool, removing the cover may require two people working together. Each person can simply stand in one corner and begin pulling the cover in unison.

HELPFUL TIPS FOR YOUR SOLAR POOL COVER

  • Do not place the cover on grass or plants—it will burn them up.
  • Do not use the solar pool cover immediately after shocking the pool. High concentrations of chlorine may cause damage to the cover.
  • To prevent mold, always store clean and dry
  • If the cover is stored on a reel system, keep covered.
  • Occasionally, the solar pool cover will need cleaning; the easiest way is to prop the cover-up, perhaps on the diving board, and spray it with the garden hose
