Inground Winter Pool Cover Accessories

Preparing your pool for the winter can protect it from becoming a calamity during the cold months ahead. Doheny's Pool Supplies FAST has the perfect high quality winter accessories at unbeatable prices.

During the harsh freezing winter months, the wind could blow the pool cover up. If that happens, it may not only damage your pool cover but provide an opening for leaves and debris to enter your pool. This could wreak havoc on your pool by clogging the pump or letting debris settle on the bottom of the pool.

Who wants to dread opening the pool next summer because it wasn't correctly winterized? Whether you have a safety cover, a solid winter cover or a mesh winter cover to protect your pool, it is important to use the right pool cover accessories and equipment. Items such as a cover guard, pool cover pumps, winter pill, water bags and water blocks will help get your pool ready for the cold season.

DOHENY'S COVER GUARD

A swimming pool with rough edges or coping can fray a safety cover's material. However, you can protect your cover with a Doheny's Cover Guard. Each Cover Guard comes in a 2' x 20' piece of Aquamaster with Armorkote Technology material.

Want to add years of life to your existing pool cover? Cover Guard is essential where rough pool coping has been re-fitted and where an existing cover has been fitted without protective padding.

  • Protects safety cover from frays, rips, or tears from rough coping, bricks, stones, or wooden decks around the pool's edge
  • Aquamaster Material with ArmorKote Technology
  • Size - 2' x 20' sheet
  • Blue on one side - Green on the other

POOL COVER PUMPS

A pool cover pump is an asset to any pool accessory arsenal. During the winter, water from rain or melted snow can accumulate on the pool cover. Allowing standing water to stay on the pool cover for a long period of time will not only shorten the lifespan of your pool cover but is also a magnet for dirt and leaves. Plus, it is a breeding ground for bacteria and mosquitoes, which can carry the West Nile and Zika viruses, in areas where the winter temperatures do not dip below 32 degrees.

Not to mention, when springtime comes, trying to remove a cover full of standing water without it pouring contaminated water into your pool can be difficult. Prevention is the key. A pool cover pump is a quick and efficient way to remove the water.

At Doheny's Pool Supplies FAST, we carry manual and automatic pool cover pumps. A manual pool cover pump has to be manually turned off and on. They are normally less expensive, and more portable and lightweight.

Automatic pool cover pumps are electric with an on/off switch. When the pump detects water, it will automatically turn itself on and when the cover is dry, it will turn itself off. Automatic pool cover pumps have a higher and faster pumping capacity while offering continuous protection.
