Doheny's Filter Cleaner and Degreaser, 1 qt

General Information

Proper filtration and chemical treatment are equally important in maintaining good swimming pool water quality. Body oils and suntan lotions which collect in the filter can significantly reduce filtration efficiency, affect water quality and increase operating costs. Filter Cleaner & Degreaser is really effective in removing oil and grease from the filter and its elements. The periodic use of this product promotes better filtration, lengthens filter cycles and reduces maintenance costs.

Directions for D.E. and Cartridge Filters

Using a clean spray bottle with full strength product, evenly coat elements or cartridge. Wait 10 minutes; then using garden hose, thoroughly rinse for 5 minutes, or using a large clean plastic bucket, soak for 1 hour in one part of this product to three parts water.

Directions for Sand Filter

Backwash filter thoroughly. Turn pump off. Pour Filter Cleaner & Degreaser into skimmer basket. Chlorine must be removed from the skimmer basket prior to addition of this product. Automatic feeder should be turned off prior to any addition of this product. See chart for exact amount of this product to be used. Turn pump on until pump primes and product moves into filter. Leave filter selector in backwash position or in closed position. Wait one hour. Turn pump on with selector in backwash position, until backwash waste water is clear. If filter has not been degreased within 12 months, use double the amount of this product, or 1 cup per 100 lb. of sand.

Maintenance Usage

Pour 8 ounces of Filter Cleaner & Degreaser into skimmer while backwashing filter. Chlorine must be removed from the skimmer basket prior to addition of Filter Cleaner & Degreaser. Automatic feeder should be turned off prior to any addition of this product. For maximum filter performance, it is recommended to be done at each backwashing.

Storage and Disposal

Keep container closed when not in use. Store in an inaccessible area to persons unfamiliar with its use. Keep away from children, pets and animals. Do not store leaking or damaged containers! Contents can be used as directed then place the damaged container in a plastic bag and discard in the trash. Mop up spills with clean water. Do not reuse or refill this container. Offer for recycling if available.
