The Ocean Blue Mighty Step is a robust entry system designed specifically for flat-bottom above-ground pools. This system features a wide, stable design and high-capacity weight rating, making it an ideal choice for decks or outside safety ladder configurations.
Critical Specifications
- Available Widths: 30-inch (Part #400600) and 38-inch (Part #400650) models.
- Weight Capacity: Supports a single user up to **400 lbs**.
- Compatibility: Designed for flat-bottom above-ground pools only. **Not for use with soft-sided pools.**
- Step Count: 4-tread system for gradual, easy entry and exit.
Installation & Ballast Requirements
- Ballast System: Requires **50 lbs of dry play sand** (25 lbs per side panel) to provide necessary weight and prevent floating.
- Air Removal: Once placed in the pool, the step must be tilted to the left and right until all air bubbles stop to ensure it sits firmly on the pool floor.
- Deck Attachment: Includes two deck connectors for secure mounting to pool decks; can also be used with safety ladder model #400950.
- Safety Labels: Ensure provided safety labels are applied to the upper handrail posts and are visible when entering the pool.
Safety & Maintenance
- Supervision: Always have competent adult supervision when the pool is in use.
- Winterization: Remove the step from the pool during winter. Drain all water by tipping the step on its side, but **do not remove the sand ballast**.
- Hardware: Use only cordless drills for assembly and installation around the pool area.
DANGER: Shallow water—absolutely no jumping or diving from the step or pool deck.
